Hanks Lee
Hanks Lee is an emerging percussionist and handpan artist on the international stage. Originally from Inner Mongolia, China, his musical journey began in Inner Mongolia and Shanghai before expanding to Thailand, Belgium, and New York, where he developed a broad international perspective through advanced training and artistic exchange.
He specializes in marimba, percussion, and handpan, combining technical precision with sensitivity and expressive, cross-genre musicianship. His original handpan works have accumulated tens of millions of online streams, while his presence across Chinese social media platforms, including Douyin and RedNote, has attracted over 150,000 followers, with his videos reaching millions of engagements.
Alongside his performance career, Hanks has developed a distinctive and energetic approach to music education and handpan teaching. His teaching integrates the discipline and musical foundations of classical music training with the expressive, mindful, and experiential elements of modern sound healing. With more than 1,000 hours of teaching experience, he has worked with students from over 50 countries, creating an inclusive learning environment that encourages both musical development and personal expression.
Known for his atmospheric and healing musical style, Hanks has collaborated with internationally recognized brands including Burberry, Converse, Salomon, NIO, and Chow Sang Sang. As a featured artist, he has performed extensively across Europe, with appearances in Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Spain, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Slovenia, Portugal, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Switzerland, and beyond.
Through contemporary percussion, handpan music, and education, Hanks continues to explore new forms of musical expression while connecting cultures and audiences through sound.
